Stream Premise
From earliest civilizations, recurring motifs have inspired great art, literature, drama, science, math and music. By making connections with the past, we begin to understand the universality of creative expression.
Simulation Descriptions
This stream will introduce students to great works and their underlying themes, and through a study of history and culture enable students to recognize the universality of human emotion. The themes of Patriotism, Freedom, Revenge, Jealousy, Honor, Greed, Prejudice, Love, Truth, and Hubris will be included.
During the Journey to the Past simulation, students will synthesize historical, cultural, and artistic
information to create museum exhibits for a “festival” showcasing the mythology, mathematics, science/inventions, and daily life/culture of ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and China.
